Grand Tour Mexico

Today I propose a wonderful tour of Mexico: Mexico City starts Crosses the Chiapas and the Yucatan and ends in Cancun , so as to allow easy connection with a beach extension in the Mexican Caribbean.
Here are the details:

Day 1


Mexico City Arrive in Mexico City and transfer to hotel Casablanca (or similar), registration and accommodation.

Day 2, Mexico City, dining, sightseeing and Teotihuacan.

The entire day will be devoted to visiting the city and the archaeological site of Teotihuacan.

The ancient Aztecs of Tenochtitlan, is today a huge metropolis with more than 18 million inhabitants, rich in pre-Columbian and colonial monuments.
The milestones of the visits will be scheduled for the Plaza of the Constitution, known as 'Zocalo', the Cathedral and National Palace, seat of the Presidency of the Republic, within the same building you can admire the frescoes (murals) of the famous painter Diego Rivera, panoramic tour of the Templo Mayor.
brief stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of Mexico and major center of pilgrimage in Latin America and continue to Teotihuacan, the Aztec language, "the place where gods are born." In the archaeological site you can admire the imposing pyramids Sun and Moon connected by the "Avenue of the Dead, Butterfly Temple, the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and the Citadel. day 3 Mexico City - Puebla - Oaxaca, lunch, visit to Puebla

Departure by bus to Puebla and visit the beautiful colonial city, its cathedral and the Chapel of the Rosary, one of the finest expressions of Mexican baroque. Lunch in restaurant and in the afternoon, continue by highway to Oaxaca.
Overnight at Victoria or similar.

Day 4, Oaxaca, lunch, visit to Monte Alban and Mitla.

morning visit the ancient town of Mitla Mixtec, drive to "El Tule" (the oldest tree in the world) and stop for lunch in a restaurant. The afternoon will be spent visiting the archaeological site of Monte Alban, the religious capital of the Zapotec people, the site is full of pyramids, tombs and carvings of fine workmanship. Back in the late afternoon, overnight.

Day 5 Oaxaca Tuxtla Gutierrez - San Cristobal De Las Casas, lunch and dinner, excursion to the Canyon Sumidero.

Transfer to airport and flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez (Chiapas state capital) via Mexico City. Arrival has been transferred to the pier for boarding and surfing the Sumidero Canyon, the towering cliffs and breathtaking views. Lunch at the restaurant and continue to San Cristobal de las Casas. Overnight at Hotel Villa Mercedes San Cristobal or similar.

Day 6 San Cristobal De Las Casas, sightseeing and local communities.

In the morning visit of the typical local market, the baroque church of Santo Domingo and the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan. Return to the city and the rest of the day free. Overnight at Hotel.

day 7, San Cristobal De Las Casas - Palenque, lunch, excursion to Agua Azul

Drive to Palenque, a bus transfer to admire the lush mountains. There will be a short break for lunch and a swim at the waterfalls of Agua Azul. " Overnight at the Hotel Ciudad Real Palenque or similar.

Day 8, Palenque - Campeche, lunch, tour of Palenque

Morning dedicated to the archeological zone of Palenque, one of the major sites of Mayan culture, lunch at the restaurant and continued toward the Gulf of Mexico to Campeche.

Visit the colonial city enclosed by walls built in the past to defend against violent pirate raids. Accommodation at the Hotel Plaza Campeche and overnight or similar.


Day 9, Campeche - Uxmal - Merida, lunch, visits to Uxmal and Merida.

morning visit the archaeological site of Uxmal and lunch in a restaurant. Continue to Merida, known as the "White City" for the color of its colonial buildings. E 'will be a stop at the Zocalo, to visit the most important monuments.

Accommodation at the Holiday Inn or similar hotel and overnight.

Day 10, Mérida - Riviera Maya, lunch and dinner, visit to Chichen Itza

Depart for Cancun, visit the archaeological zone of Chichen Itza and lunch in a restaurant. Continuation of the journey to the Riviera Maya and the arrival in the evening, accommodation at the Barceló Maya Beach (or similar). Dinner and overnight in hotel Day 11

, Cancun Italy. Top of the return trip

Transfer to Cancun and the beginning of the return trip, meals and overnight on board.
